Car troubles!

I really hate to complain but I just got my car a week ago and already it is broken! Mike took it to the DMV to get his car plated and on the way home 2 blocks away it died. It acted like it was not getting gas so we went and got a gas can and put 5 gallons in it, well that didn't work. Now we are trying to figure out just what to do next. The connectors for the fuel filter is rusted so bad we can not get it off to change the filter. The fuel pump is in the gas tank so we will have to drop it and then change that. Lets hope and pray these things help because I can not afford $400 for the injectors.
